The USA, China, Spain and Japan are the largest markets for 2K spray polyurethane foam accounting for an estimated 70% of production. The versatility of these foams and their ability to meet the growing demand for more and better thermal insulation is creating new opportunities in across both mature and emerging markets.
Production and demand for one component aerosol spray foams (OCF) is also growing. Global production has increased from 160 million cans in 2000 to 395 million cans in 2007; annual production is forecast to continue increasing by 7-8% per year until 2012, Russia and China posting the highest rates. These products are finding many more applications in both the professional and DIY construction markets where they can save time as well as providing adhesion, sealing and void filing properties.
